Maar nu NHL 13, het nieuwste deel binnen de bekende ijshockeyserie, vanaf vandaag verkrijgbaar is voor de Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 en PC, is het tijd voor actie. Voordat je je zuurverdiende centen uitgeeft, wil je namelijk wel eerst weten of de game dat wel waard is. Daarom hebben we de recensies van de game zoals vanouds weer op een rijtje gezet, zodat jij kunt zien of dit het geval is.
NHL is gebaseerd op de sport ijshockey, die vooral in Noord-Amerika heel populair is. Net als FIFA en Madden is de game een simulator die het realistische aspect wil bewaren. Verwacht dus geen salto's en andere spannende bewegingen, maar een ouderwetse knokpartij zal niet te vermijden zijn. Pak je stick en schiet jezelf naar de winkel toe.
Voordat je echter tot aanschaf overgaat, wil je weten of de game je geld waard is. De recensie op XGN kun je binnenkort verwachten, wanneer Eke genoeg goals heeft gemaakt om een oordeel te vellen. Er zijn echter al wat internationale recensies verschenen en die zijn over het algemeen zeer positief:

If NHL 13 has a problem, it's that it feels like a stopgap ahead of a much bigger update. Momentum is a terrific addition, but it doesn't change the fact that the game's animations looks stiff, and that the Be a GM mode lacks increasingly common sports-game elements such as news headlines, RPG elements, and players who have to be kept happy.

In the case of the good, the bad, and the ugly, NHL 13 has it all. It's not award-winning but it's still plenty of fun to go around. Just don't trade in those NHL 12 copies just yet. If complete roster updates and fancy new game modes don't have you jumping for joy, you're plenty fine sticking with '12.
