Wordt The Last of Us overtroffen door Fallout bij The Emmy's?

De nominaties voor The Emmy’s zijn bekendgemaakt en twee shows steken er met kop en schouders bovenuit. Shogun en The Bear hebben namelijk gigantisch veel nominaties in de wacht gesleept. Maar ook Fallout valt in de smaak.

De laatste jaren is FX goed bezig als het aankomt op series. Het had vroeger al een aantal fan favorites met Sons of Anarchy en Justified, maar de kwaliteit en de kwantiteit is drastisch omhoog gegaan. Zo hebben kijkers kunnen genieten van series als Reservation Dogs, The Patient, The Americans, What We Do In the Shadows, Shogun en The Bear.

En die laatste twee vallen nu met name in de smaak. Dat is goed duidelijk geworden met de nominaties voor The Emmy’s. Shogun heeft de meeste van allemaal te pakken, met maar liefst 25 nominaties voor een dramaserie. The Bear breekt daarnaast een record, met 23 nominaties voor een komedieserie - hoewel er niet veel grappen in de show gemaakt worden.

Beide shows hebben uiteraard de grote nominaties te pakken, zoals beste serie, beste regie en beste acteur, maar ook een hele berg aan andere categorieën waar ze in uitblinken. Denk daarbij aan cinematografie, kostuums, script, editing en meer.

Valt een game-serie nu wel in de prijzen?

Ook Fallout valt in de smaak bij The Emmy’s. De serie die gebaseerd is op de games van Bethesda is genomineerd voor maar liefst 16 prijzen. Onder andere Walton Goggins is genomineerd voor zijn rol als The Ghoul. Het is de vraag of Fallout er wel met een prijs vandoor gaat, nadat The Last of Us vorig jaar niks won tijdens de award show, ondanks vele nominaties.
