Eurogamer - 7,0

''As pretty and playable as it is, in no sense is inFamous: Second Son a post-Grand Theft Auto 5 open-world game. It's just a tidier, shorter and shinier one. It's easy tot enjoy and has a winning personality, but it's reluctant to deviate from a stale streetmap of game city. It's no rebel, then. In fact, it's a conformist.''

Destructoid - 9,5

''Second Son is by far the best inFamous yet. If you're a fan of the serries, then checking this one out is a no-brainer, and if you're not, consider jumping in with Delsin. You don't need any prior knowledge of the franchise to do so, and if you have any appreciation of open-world superhero games, you'll enjoy it.''

IGN - 8,7

''InFamous is easily my favorite open-world action franchise, and Second Son looks as if it will elevate the series in almost every way. It's a little disappointing that the morality system doesn't seem to have matured as much as the rest of the story and presentational elements, but perhaps some of the other choices in the full game will be a bit more difficult to make. Regardless, inFamous: Second Son looks and plays like a dream, and i'm ithcing to spend more time with it.''

GameSpot - 8,0

''Second Son focuses on pure enjoyment. It communicates that through the excellent combat that forces you to concoct crazy tactics to overthrow the invading forces. It draws you in further through its incredible visuals that not only hunt at the PlayStation 4's impressive power, but employ a sensible artistic touch that makes Seattle a place you want to explore. It uses a complementary score to underline dramatic moments, and the sound effects pop with flair. And yet, for all of the elements in which Second Son excels, the narrative fails to carry its share of the weight. Still, don't become mire in the negativity as Delsin so often does. Instead, just laugh at the cheesy dialogue and chortle at how extreme the morality system is. Second Son is a great game that knows exactly what it is, and sucks you in with unfiltered fun.''

Joystiq - 9,0

''While previous inFamous games were often frustrating during their later campaign missions, Second Son maintains a steady growth in difficulty throughout, allowing players to rise to the challenge by progressing through its skill tree at their own pace. Enemy encouters are frequent but deftly paces, and give players plenty of strategic options. Even the boss battles - a low point in earlier inFamous games - are enjoyable and memorable in Second Son.''

NowGamer - 8,0

''Mechanically inFamous: Second Son doens't provide anything to astound and amaze. Beyond those lovely, lovely graphics, mind. But it is a thoroughly enjoyable game, courtesy of those empowering superpowers and it'll be hard not to find yourself engrossed as Delsin becomes a pink blur racing up the side of a building before suspending a group of enemies in the air and blasting each of them out of existence one by one. Maybe it's hard to describe inFamous: Second Son as a 'next-gen' experience, but it's certainly a reason to own a PS4 - if not for the graphics, then for the sheer entertainment it can provide.''
