SimCity Recensie Round-Up: bevrijd je innerlijke burgemeester!

Vanaf 7 maart kan iedereen eindelijk aan de slag als architect met SimCity. Om te zien of EA Maxis een goede game heeft neergezet, hebben wij een lijstje samengesteld met recensies van de game.

Het is al een tijdje geleden dat er een nieuwe SimCity game is uitgekomen. Gelukkig is de game terug bij Maxis, de geestelijke vader van de serie. In de game krijg jij de kans een metropool op te bouwen en als burgemeester te besturen. Alleen gebouwtjes neerzetten is dus niet genoeg, ook moet je normen en waarden aanhouden om goed te functioneren.

SimCity heeft meer dan alleen opdrachten te bieden. Door de online connectiviteit is er een wereldwijde markt met echte spelers. De welvaart van je stad is onder andere afhankelijk van de diensten, grondstoffen en voorzieningen die je met andere spelers kunt ruilen.

Voordat je de game aanschaft wil je natuurlijk weten of de game het echt waard is. Je kunt natuurlijk de XGN recensie lezen die sinds gisteren online staat. Daaruit blijkt dat het bouwen van steden nog nooit zo leuk was, vandaar de dikke 8,8 als cijfer. Ook internationaal doet de game het ontzettend goed:

Sim City engulfs you right from the outset, and everything is so intuitively designed that you're never in doubt of what needs doing, and what possibilities are available to you. It's a very ambitious game - although we'd wish that Maxis had set their sights just a little bit higher and made the playing field a little bit bigger, as there's a small tinge of unfulfilled potential. The rest is excellent, though, and Sim City stands as an incredibly well-designed and beautifully presented joy.

Mostly though, SimCity is a game where you can allow your creativity and organizational skills to work in tandem, just the way you wish.
